Reading Strategies
Listed below are a few of the strategies we will be learning throughout the year. Each week our text has a different strategy, so all you have to do is find the correct weekly reading text and find the strategy used for that week. I have also included a few videos we have watched in class that address these reading strategies.

Main Idea |
A CAUSE is an event or action that make something happen. An EFFECT is what happens because of an event or action. Cause and Effect relationships help make up the events in a story.

The MAIN IDEA is the most importan point an author makes about a topic. The main idea often is stated at the beginning of the paragraph. The other sentences in the paragraph usually give major and minor details about the main idea that help explain or support it.
